Customs, Duties & Import Taxes

1. Orders Delivered Within India

Orders delivered within India are domestic shipments and do not attract international customs duties. Applicable Indian taxes are handled according to the order and invoice.

2. International Customs Charges

International orders may be subject to customs duty, import tax, VAT, GST, sales tax, brokerage, disbursement fees, handling fees or other charges imposed in the destination country.

These charges are determined by the destination authorities and service providers. They are outside Gemsdeva’s control and can vary according to the destination, product classification, declared value, material and local regulations.

3. Customer Responsibility

Unless Gemsdeva expressly confirms otherwise in writing, all destination customs duties, import taxes and clearance charges are payable by the recipient.

Before ordering, international customers should check the applicable rules and estimated charges with their local customs authority.

4. Collection by Courier or Customs

Depending on the destination and courier, import charges may be collected before delivery, during customs clearance or when the parcel is delivered.

A courier or customs broker may also charge a separate handling, brokerage, advancement or disbursement fee. Such fees are not controlled by Gemsdeva.

5. No Fixed Duty Estimates

Gemsdeva does not publish or guarantee fixed country-specific customs percentages because regulations, thresholds, classifications and tax rates may change without notice.

Any estimate shared by Gemsdeva is provided only for general assistance and does not replace an official assessment by the destination customs authority.

6. International Shipping Quote

International courier charges depend on the destination, parcel weight, dimensions, insurance, product type and the courier’s current rate.

Gemsdeva will check the applicable shipping price and communicate it to the customer before confirming or dispatching the international shipment.

Payment of the international shipping charge does not include destination customs duties unless expressly stated.

7. Customs Documentation

Gemsdeva will prepare reasonable commercial shipping documentation based on the purchased products and transaction value.

We cannot declare an incorrect value, describe a commercial order as a gift or provide misleading product information to avoid customs charges.

8. Customer Information

Customers must provide an accurate recipient name, delivery address, telephone number, email address and any identification or tax information lawfully required for customs clearance.

Additional costs or delays caused by incorrect, incomplete or unavailable customer information may be the customer’s responsibility where legally applicable.

9. Customs Clearance Delays

Customs clearance can extend the estimated delivery period. Gemsdeva can provide reasonable shipment documents and courier assistance, but cannot control the destination authority’s inspection or clearance timeframe.

10. Restricted or Prohibited Imports

Import rules differ by country. Certain gemstones, jewellery materials, religious items or products may require permits or may be restricted in a particular destination.

International customers are responsible for confirming that the ordered product may lawfully be imported into their destination. Gemsdeva may decline or cancel a shipment if a material legal or courier restriction is identified.

11. Refused or Unclaimed Shipments

If a recipient refuses to pay applicable import charges, refuses delivery, does not complete customs clearance or leaves the parcel unclaimed, the shipment may be returned, held or disposed of by the courier or authority.

Any legally applicable return freight, customs charge, storage fee, brokerage cost or other unrecoverable expense may be deducted from an eligible refund after the parcel is safely returned and verified. Product-specific return restrictions will continue to apply.

12. Currency Conversion

Customs authorities, banks and payment providers may apply their own exchange rate or currency-conversion charge. Gemsdeva does not control these rates or fees.

13. Digital Services

This customs policy primarily applies to physical shipments. Digital Kundali reports and online astrology consultations are delivered electronically and do not require physical customs clearance.

Any tax treatment applicable to a digital service may depend on the customer’s location and applicable law.
